We have moved the majority of GP appointments to telephone appointments, as per national guidance. All routine appointments will be cancelled during this emergency, as per national guidance. Baby immunisation appointments will continue with Nurses, please call for an appointment. We will only be carrying out urgent blood tests and other testing, as directed by our GPs.
Most GP appointments over the next few weeks will be via telephone or video call when this is enabled. Try to answer your telephone when the doctor calls as it may not always be possible to ring you back.
Staff have been instructed to ask for the reason for your appointment, please cooperate with them.

For routine matters:
· Call at 8am for on the day urgent appointments.
· Call before 10am for home visits.
· Call after 9.30am for prescriptions.
· You will need to nominate a pharmacy so we can send all prescriptions electronically during this period
· Routine testing has been halted for the time being. If the test you require is urgent, inform the staff and we will get back to you to see if your request is appropriate.

Practice Nurse and Practice Pharmacists
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse, practice pharmacist rather than a doctor - examples of this could be for Asthma, COPD and Diabetes reviews and child immunisations. Practice nurses and our practice pharmacist are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly. Making appropriate use of clinician appointments will get patients seen earlier in many cases, leading to what we hope will be higher rates of patient satisfaction.
To make an appointment call the surgery during opening times.
Patients can also book telephone appointments for the doctor to call you back on our main switchboard number on (01772) 792864 to book an appointment.
Urgent cases are seen on the day. If possible please call us before 10:00.
If your condition is non-urgent, you can expect to see a GP within two working days, though you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP. If you don't need an appointment within two working days, you also have the option to book up to 4 weeks in advance if this is more convenient for you.
The nurse based in our practice treats patients for a wide range of common conditions. You can expect to see the nurse within one working day.
You can book to have a telephone consultation with a doctor who will ring you at an agreed time on the telephone number you have given. If you are only available on a mobile phone, you will be expected to ring the practice at the agreed time.
We can arrange interpretation and translation services in person or by phone for patients who do not speak English. Please let us know if you need this service when booking an appointment.
Specialist and Hospital Care
If a GP or another member of our health care team believes you need hospital treatment or specialist care elsewhere, they will ask you where and when you would like to go. They can then book your appointment electronically while you wait.
If you would prefer to have some time to think before deciding where and when to have treatment, you will be offered the option of calling the practice later and we will be able to book your appointment then.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
Patients who repeatedly miss appointments without cancelling them will receive a warning from the Practice, and may be asked to find an alternative service if there is no change. Clinician time is important and we should do our best to keep appointments and inform the surgery of cancelations as soon as possible.
